Triway Titan Basketball - The Pit

The Pit, Home of the Titans

Triway's home basketball court, known as "The Pit," is one of the most intimidating places to play in the entire state of Ohio. Rumors say that The Pit was first planned to be a pool and had a change of plans due to construction conflicts - not true! It was merely a creative way to economically build the gym to allow for the locker rooms to be placed underneath the home and away stands. The Pit has been praised by newcomers for decades because of its unique structure and the atmosphere of the games played there.

Triway's success in basketball and the prestiege of The Pit has attracted newcomers every year in order to see what it is all about. Coming away, it has been described as "the best high school basketball court I've ever been to," and the asmosphere being "more like a college basketball game."

Fascinating Fact: In the decade from 1990 to 2000, Randy Montgomery's Triway Titan basketball team accumulated a breathtaking 92-8 record at home in The Pit.

Fascinating Fact: During Triway's two year run of back-to-back DII State Runner Up seasons in the 2004-2005 and '05-'06 seasons and the following '06-'07 season, they went undefeated at home, winning all 28 OHSAA-recognized games. This string ended on Saturday, November 24 2007, against Northwestern.
